Letter From the President
Dear Friends, Partners, and RDA Portal Visitors,
The Russian Digital Alliance (RDA) is a non-profit association based in the United States. Our main objective is to help Russian software and other Information & Communications Technology (ICT) companies from Russia become more successful in expanding into the US market. To achieve this goal RDA focuses on helping Russian software and ICT companies enter the US software products and offshore software outsourcing markets by helping US companies obtain an easy access to information about the Russian software and ICT companies and their products and services.
What We Do:
Through multiple participation models RDA:
- Unites successful Information Technology providers from Russia
- Provides US companies interested in buying from, partnering with or outsourcing intellectual services to Russia with information, online research and limited advisory services
- Facilitates business and trade in ICT segments through easy-to-use online informational support provided to the US and Russian companies
- Promotes Russian IT image and capabilities to the US companies
Why We Do It:
The driving force behind RDA is the energy of the people who believe in Russia's ability to establish itself as a nation capable of developing and exporting not just its raw natural resources but also products of its peoples' intellect. We devote out time and energy to the cause of helping Russia succeed in this endeavor.
RDA Membership and Support:
RDA membership is FREE of charge. RDA is supported by a number of Russian professionals living in the US. It is a 100% volunteer effort. As a non-profit organization we support and promote all and any other organizations and trade associations devoted to similar causes.
What We Think Russian ICT Companies Need to Succeed:
We believe that there are Three (3) Basic Elements necessary for the Russian software and ICT industry to succeed in the world markets in general and the US market in particular. Such three elements include:
- Business value proposition
- Awareness of the target market about such value proposition
- Convenience of access and use of the value proposition by potential clients
RDA believes that out of the above 3 Basic Elements:
The 1st Element, Business Value Proposition, is mostly there. Existing statistical and anecdotal evidence suggests many Russian software and ICT companies developed a strong value proposition:
- Competitive pricing
- Top-notch problem-solving capabilities and highly educated work force
- Well-developed and scalable software products, etc.
The 2nd Element, however, is not as well established: very few companies and very few people in the US are aware that Russia has a lot to offer in terms of software and ICT capabilities. Russia is perceived as primarily an oil and gas rich country. One of the purposes of RDA is to change this perception and create awareness about the existing intellectual potential of the Russian businesses.
The 3rd Element is not as well established either: out of thousands of Russian ICT companies only a handful have some sort of presence in the US in the form of representative offices and distribution partners. RDA plans to help Russian software and ICT companies establish representative, sales & marketing, and servicing presence in the US through its Ambassador™ program.
